Yes, Rottnest Island exists on Aerth! Here is a distribution map for the quokka, though it does not incl. Rottnest Island. Keep in mind that western Magmur has been colonized by the Lemurians. Prespos Ps. Yes, also, lemurs are from Lemuria.

There seems to be a Cat Empire in Melbourne, Australia: They also have a band (shown on the picture above) which offers music on Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/the-cat-empireRakasta lands in eastern Magmur would be cool! AD&D stats for the Rakasta can be found in Dragon #247.

The introduction of horses into the Lemurian colonies has turned out to be a disaster, with more people being killed by horses than by the local fauna, which is among the most deadly on Aerth.

There is a race of intelligent psionic stromatolites in Magmur, particularly near "Shark Bay" (somewhere near the Lemurian colonies of west Magmur). (Thanks: Atherton) See MM2, "bowler", "galeb duhr", for a reference when constructing their stats. Prespos Ps. As always, the Lemurian colonization of Magmur remains problematic, due to the deadliness of the local monsters.

Lemurian colonisation has had a negative impact on the ecology ov Magmur, as well as upsetting the world balance. The rumored predilection of the Lemurians towards conjuration && necromancy, both forms of un-natural magick, is thought to be to blame. 1 loose demon causes more sorrow than 1000 humans, so the saying goes.

From: Epic of Aerth Addenda, by Gregg Timm. Magmur (pg. 125) The least explored continent of Ærth, Magmur has temperate coastal plains, an arid interior (the Ganuumu), tropical jungles to the North, and the Great Barrier Reef extending offshore of its entire eastern coast. Mention should also be made of Uluru, a massive red sandstone monolith held sacred by the Aborigines which rises over 1100 feet above the surrounding Ganuumu Desert in the north. The marine waters around this continent are home to the most-venomous sea creatures of Ærth (coneshell, seawasp jellyfish, sea snake, blue-ringed octopus, and stonefish); as well as sharks, barracudas, and giant clams. And the dry inland deserts are home to the deadly tiger snake, death adder, funnel-web spider, and desert scorpion. Many interesting animals are to be found, including kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, koalas, and platypuses. Flora includes spinifex grass, kunzea, desert pea, bottle brush, golden wattle, eucalyptus trees, desert oak, and acacia in the drier regions and ferns, palms, cycads, tree ferns, orchids, breadfruit, and coconuts in the wetter areas. A species of mountain ash found here grows to over 300 feet in height! In the far northwestern portions of the upper peninsula can be found cloves and nutmeg. Two examples of the Brown race are native to Magmur: the Aborigines of the Ganuumu Desert and the Papuans of the northern jungles. The Aborigines carry little more with them than two sticks for starting fires, a small supply of food (often dried worms!) and weapons (stone knives, boomerang, spear, and woomera [spear-thrower]). Their various clans are based on "Dreamtime" ancestors. There are several primitive Lemurian colonies located on the eastern and southern coastal areas, but these have only the most vestigial of ties to their homeland. Small amounts of gold, silver, lead, zinc, and copper have been mined here.

Adventure seed: There are ruins of a Lemurian colony around what would geographically correspond to Swanland. The ruins could be recent or ancient. In the former case, the adventurers are hired to investigate, beginning in one of the other Lemurian colonies. Upon arrival, they find wheat fields and untended sheep. The gold mines are empty. There are dead bodies all over all the place, but it is a mystery as to what slaughtered the entire colony. (Thanks: Atherton)

There is a small Lemurian whaling village on the southwest tip of Magmur, in the area of the Noongar people known as "The Land of Rain".
The Lemurians (from Muavinapu) hunt blue, humpback, killer whales, sperm whales, and, right whales, all of which are found in the local area.
The Noongar detest the Muavinapuns, and would love to see the village wiped out, as the Noongar regard the whales as being divine creatures (note that whales are sentient, and, that there are whale bards).
(Thanks: Atherton)

"The Jerijom is an undead kangaroo much feared by certain nomadic tribes inhabiting the warmer climes of the world. Unlike the original species from which they are derived the jerijom are possessed by a malicious intelligence which drives them to track living creatures sometimes over hundreds of miles. Typically they attack at night. Larger jerijoms which originate from large Red or Grey kangaroos have 3-4 hit die, smaller forms such as wallabies have 2 hd and attack for 2-5 hp damage. They attack by standing on their tail and ripping up with razor sharp hind paws. In Jerijoms where the decomposition process is not too far advanced imps may be found riding in the desiccated pouch occasionally accompanied by the severed head of one the Jerijoms past victims."
