Anyone else play?
Been tempted to make a cross between Tunnel and Trolls and Carcosa myself.

Sadly, I've never played T&T yet.
Definitely something to look forward to!
I've heard that it is great for solo adventuring.
2014 --> where can I buy T&T?
Thanks, Pres

depends on how much you want to spend. for 15 bucks you can get the 7.5 rules, a book of extra spells, a monster manual, a GM adventure, and a good solo adventure. for about 4 bucks you can get the very usable 4.0 rules. most poeple play 5, 5.5, or 7.5 as they are all very similar. There is less difference between 5->7.5 then B/X and BECMI. (Why no six, that is a long story) RPGnow has them. rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product/59112/Tunnels--Trolls-v75(Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Rule Book) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Codex Incantatem) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Character Sheet) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Hot Pursuit) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Kaball Map) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Monsters & Magic) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Monstrum Codex) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Strange Destinies) (Tunnels & Trolls v7.5: Tokens) And yes, it is a great solo running game.

Played T&T since high school - which is more years ago than I'll admit to.
Without a doubt, one of the most under-rated games ever (second place would go to Dragon Warriors by .....Dave Morris and Oliver Johnson....I think?)
This game came out about the same time as D&D, but didn't have the backing to rise as quickly. Otherwise, I think you would have heard a lot more about it, and it would be in a whole new stratosphere now.
The beauty of the game is not in it's detailed rules, or sense of balance (not much of either), but the fact the rules are so simple and easy to learn. This might sound strange, but the potential customization is huge!
There's an absolute plethora of player races to choose from, and if you want something a bit different, the monstrous-kin characters are a great way to go.
If you don't like games where the numbers go up ever higher the more you play, or you're a starch-shirt who doesn't like humor in his games - probably not the system for you.
As a solo game, it's awesome, and tons of adventures out there you can use, and simple to rig up your own random generator (again, results aren't bogged down by 'balance' and 'level'. Monster Rating is very fluid, and you can pretty much put anything anywhere.
No idea if anything I said is comprehensible - Need sleep badly!
Just take my word for it, great game.

I have several T&T books on my hard drive (I have not gone through them yet, as I'm backlogged in files), but I only own one physical copy: Beyond the Silvered Pane. Basically, its a series of mini-encounters that stems form going into a dwarf's magic mirror. It is a neat set-up for Lone Wolf/Fighting Fantasy-styled solo-adventure. I really like Liz Danforth's art in this book.

T&T!
It's a real pity I never found the game back in the day, so I am a very late convert to the system. It's pretty much the perfect match for the level of complication for my beergaming needs and I love, absolutely love, the scalability of the combat system. It can handle one on one duels as well as clashes of armies without adding any complicated mechanics to the basic rolling system. That and the "roll first, then narrate what happens" way of running a combat round...
Yeah, lovely. But me and mine are so used to D&D it is still our game of choice, but I have a very large appreciation of the Tunnels & Trolls system.
Have a few of the solo gamebooks - really cool stuff. The system works damn well on that front too.
Anyway, there is a very nice remix of the T&T 4th edition system called Retro Roleplaying Realms by some guy. Should be floating around the web here and there.
