Preface: To make it very clear, Presposia is NOT a Right-Wing Site, despite the mission and prespos ov Free Speech/Expression. Within the context of Free Speech/Expression, part of it is to listen/read, to the other side. whether they are a Muslim, Communist, etc. A big part of it is simply listening/reading. So, regardless of your political viewpoint, all are welcome, here. That said, I am going to pretend that I am far-left, for this thread. Enjoy the rant!

I grew up in the context of the Religious Right being the ogre in the room. They were pro-censorship, against free speech, and put their ideology above the principles of Liberty. They fostered a moral panic over Satanism (and D&D) that was not grounded in reality.
I never imagined the "progressive" Left would become the same way, but the historic precedent is there.
yes, of course: Fuck the Right. Always. Never forget that the VP of the USA puts the Bible above the Constitution. Yes, Mike Pence is a TRAITOR in waiting.
I still consider myself a "classical Liberal", if that means anything. The failure of the "left" to throat-stomp the Progressive, identity-politic whiners , and allow that to become the mainstream Left/DNC, is a travesty.
The radical Left has become orders of magnitude more violent than the Religious Right ever was, at the peak of 80's Satanic Panic, they were not rioting, they were not assaulting people they vaguely associated with Satanism as the Left now assaults their convenient "Nazis".
So yes, the radical Left deserve all the ire they recieve. But we must never forget the rather SUSPICIOUSLY QUIET religious right, these days. Also interesting note: the religious right schizmed over Trump. They did not want to support him and were going to sit the election out. THAT's why Pence was the VP.
Liberty for All! (except Communists, and Canadians, of course. They brought it on themselves.)

LOL Good post, and, Yes, 39.5% of Canadians brought it on themselves. I voted Green for that election (some call this a throw-away vote, but I think of it as a 'par ranger' vote. I was opposed to Justin Trudeau from before the beginning of his election win. Above said, the Partisan political system really sucks, IMHO. Sure, I want to stand with the water protectors, or, tie myself to a tree, or something like that, on some days. (Sorry for the reference to kinky sex with a dryad). On other days, I might suggest more military spending in a certain area. And, I do change my mind on things. I might be supporting ABC, but after good debate, I might change my mind to XYZ. Honestly, though, it is pretty binary, it seems: * The Right supports Christianity * The Left supports Islam What I am seeing these days, in politics is increased polarization, with a strong religious undercurrent. Johnny Ps. Back to trying to take a Liberal point of view (role-playing, here). * Burning the flag is my constitutional right * Nothing is going to change without violence at protests * Those who criticize Islam are like Nazis * Right-wing governments destroy the Earth * Christianity must be fought against * Laundry detergent tastes great!
