I picked up a 30 man group of Gnomes, painted them in an hour, and made way with their own means, I elected upon the Heavy Armour and the Spears of Essex Miniatures, I do believe them of Bob Olley make. Given the archaic source materials on the matter, I do like them a lot, even granted my 5th edition set-up. more weaponskill, leadership and a bit less toughness than a man are the gnomes.

As they're costed as mensch, were I to give them additional items, I'd probably give them the 35 point 3d6 psychology tests banner and the champion the charmed shield.
I call the regiment "Herons About Darkness", but in German.
They have a beautiful and ruddy skin-tone. The camera didn't capture that...but the finer part will be their presence as a DOW unit in a prospective Mighty Empires (cardboard edition) game with the worthies.
Set in a "near Albion" sort of area, I'm thinking...I'll have to fix my Bologs and Catchtor models and get me some Fimir. Probably have the High Elves as the local yokels.

Whence Gnomes measure as a man, one needs further upon the measure of what they have. They do surmise a tasteful intermediate power level, but in the midst of it all, there's always a fathom lower and a fathom higher.
The power scale for now shall be Ungors>Gnomes>Chaos Marauders. Cuz that's as it is.
Through a jaunt, I did attempt to discourse which if anything needs any tampering with ruleswise, in the otherwise superior 5th edition. I know it's panned en-masse, but the concerns weighed against it are largely impassioned pleas about not being overpowered by the Chaos Lord in residence. Big blockth of twoopth.
I've played 5, 6, 7, 8, and each edition was successively less good than the starter one, an opinion based on the conceits of the inferior subsequent ones...
Middlehammer's fine, Oldhammer might be better yet even, but Middlehammer has yet to let me down.

Pardon the preceding and extant rant. Here's some Myeri Clan from Oakbound Studios amassed with other things... Now my nascent Mighty Empires campaign will have Mammoths, Gnomes, Giants and Fimir! Yay! The High Elves will be the locals.
