Kicking this around awhile.
BEYOND THE VALLEY OF Æ
This is a heavily post-Apocalyptic setting. The rule base is 1E AD&D.
Players begin in the Valley, which comprises the entire known world at this time. Some 300 years ago, the world underwent an Unspeakable Apocalypse. (the UA? lol) The Valley runs North-South, and within it are Five Towns. It takes about a week+ to walk the known length of it, or a few days by boat - by the River Æ.
Each of the Five Towns are independent of each other, and are culturally, and even technologically, quite different. They trade heavily with each other. At the start of the campaign, several of the towns have just begun offering competing Exploratory commissions. And as yet, no one who has left the Valley of Æ has returned.
Player Characters can only be human in this setting. Making in-game contact with other races may open up those races to PC option.
Available Classes: Fighter, Illusionist, Druid, Bard*. Humans may also multiclass as F/I. Multiclassing can begin at any level, and can cease / resume at any level-up. Dual-classing is not used in this setting. Other AD&D classes may become available if contact is made with other races. *Bard class TBA
Stat Generation: 4d6 drop low, choose one of 3 sets.
