My small Imperial Army finally took to the table last week, lead into battle by The Pope against the forces of Chaos.

Papal forces invested the central hill with the Knights Annular on the left flank. Chaos forces across the field consisted of two units of Lesser Warbeasts (Chaos Hounds), one of Belicous Foot (Beastmen), one of Heavy Foot (Chaos Thugs) and their leader 6 Elite Foot (Chaos Knights). The hounds and beast men swept across the board before the Papal forces could organise properly. The Musketeers were swept away before they could even fire a shot and it was only their uphill advantage that saved the Swiss Guard from the same fate. This bogged down into a nasty fight, the Imperial force finally winning out only to be flank attacked and routed in turn. This saw the Pope fleeing for his life towards the unmoving Knights. This seemed to galvanise them and they made easy work of both hounds and beastmen. The heavier elements of the Chaos forces were proving painfully slow which allowed the Pope to heal his Knights and bombard the wicked with holy water. One final charge saw the forces of evul crushed beneath iron shod hooves. Pope 1 - Evil 0

What you're describing is not what happens when Chaos meets an Empire army. This was clearly a host of Malal aspect Chaos, making a supplication with their blood.

They were obscene, slithering Slanneshi, Etts. Far to vulgar for the official Papal photographer
