Author: Murdock Berk (Murdock Berk) Main thread: @dragonsfootGood news: Murdock is designing another adventure/setting. The main place for this is over at Dragonsfoot (follow the link above), but here's a quick preview of the setting. Enjoy! Backwater, a humid and dreary region noted for the fens and the rivers that run through it. Merchants ferry their goods up- and down-river, strange creatures dwell in the darkness, and adventure is behind every tree! I am going to use this thread to chronicle the detailing of each hex as ideas come to me. Major Features are noted on the map with icons including towns, cities, points of interest, etc. Minor Features are located at specific hexes, examples include interesting terrain features, a small monster lair, particularly dense population of wild game, etc. For areas of hexes that otherwise have no significant feature, I would list some general details about what random encounters, monsters, wildlife, herbs, ores, and other materials and general things could be located there, with % chances of occurrence/discovery. Each hex is 3 miles across, the map is 16 hexes wide by 24 long, making the total area covered 48x72 miles. At an average rate of 12 miles a day (not counting terrain modifiers), it would take 6 days to march across the map north-south. Feel free to post your suggestions! I am going to use this setting in my home game and see how it works.
