Hi all,
Still working on my other stuff , but I am working on a Generic Space Setting (GSS)
Think of a weird mix of Transhuman space, Eclipse Phase, and The Expanse (books/TV show), with some arthur c clarke mixed in.
Summary: In a no-faster then light drive system, humanity, both normal and modified, now live and work in space. Almost all is inside the solar system. However earth control of the solar system is waning, as space is becoming more-self assertive.

Mercury
Orbital Period: 88 Days Gravity: .38 Sol: 132 days Number of Moons: 0 Human Population: 40,000 (est)
Mercury is the smallest and innermost planet in the Solar System. Its orbital period (about 88 Earth days) is less than any other planet in the Solar System. Seen from Earth, it appears to move around its orbit in about 116 days. It has no known natural satellites.
Mercury was settled in 2128 by a group of settlers seeking privacy and to cut themselves off from Earth related politics. It the last 72 years the Hermean settlers have carved out a home deep under the crust of Mercury. They are noted miners and shipbuilders, and Ceres and other port of call it is not unknown to see a Hermean registered ship trading metals for water and volatiles. In addition, Shipyards deep in the crust of Mercury have built many ships to sell, giving added value to its metal production. Hermean ships are noted for their ruggedness and reliability. However, outside of guests, and water and gas haulers, supplying the settlers, there is little access to Mercury itself. No one knows how many people live on Mercury, the settlers views on AI, cloning, and artificial wombs, or other policies that would alter the number of people on Mercury. Due to its gravity it is possible for humans on Mercury to have children without the side effects seen in belters, and have the same build as native born Martians.
GM Note: What the Hermean's are up to us up to the GM. Are they cultists? are they secretly building powerful AIs? are they just people who want to be left alone? All this is up to the GM.

Orbital Period: 224.7 Days
Gravity: .907
Sol: 243 days
Number of Moons: 0
Human Population: ~300 (orbit)
Venus is the second planet from the Sun, orbiting it every 224.7 Earth days. It has the longest rotation period (243 days) of any planet in the Solar System and rotates in the opposite direction to most other planets. It has no natural satellite. Venus gravity and harsh weather conditions make it uninhabitable outside of robotic probes that are on occasion sent to explore. The longest serving one is "Valcos-3", a balloon probe that still drifts over the planet and has since 2182. The Chinese operate the Harmony-5 station over Venus, and it not uncommon to have 3-12 ships in orbit or carrying out gravity assist. The orbit 280 km above the planet is still littered with the debris of the Harmony-4 station, which was wrecked by AKDs in the 10 day war. China still claims that the wreckage is off limits, but this does not stop salvage ships trying to salvage the wreck. There has been a number of incidents of the PLAN-SP firing on ships that where too obvious on their salvaging.

Look up Eclipse Phase, 2300 AD, Outer Veil and Orbital (by Paul Elliot), as well as Space 1889.
