territory above Po-hai, bordered by Manchuria on the W && N,
the Sea ov Nippon on the east. There is good, fertile land, but the
climate runs to extremes, being very cold in winter && sweltering hot
in the summer. It has many mts., rivers && streams, &&
woodlands ov great extent, w/ oaks, cedar, && other sorts ov
hardwoods && conifers. The land is very beautiful, && its scenery is
justly celebrated, but the volk are NOT friendly, && their cities are
squalid despite their association with Nippon. There are great stretches
ov forest && scrub in Liang. Tigers, bears, wild boars, panthers,
wolves, deer, && much other game is found in the places && the
wilds ov the mts..

The volk ov Liang are those once known as the Liao, now
intermixed with Jurchen nomads and Ch'inese. Most are settled,
although some 1/4 still tend to be somewhat nomadic, w/ herds
