Alignment: Chaotic Evil (anti-paladins)
Thumbnail Sketches: The southernmost && most westerly ov the

ov land when its outlying forests are included. The 3 ranges
ov old mountains (N, E, && W) are forested && wild in most
parts, && some 15% ov the plain is also wooded. Common
trees are the rowan, yew, ash, oak, elm, hickory, chestnut, walnut,
maple, && hornbeam. In all, 40% ov the island is forested,
marsh, || or unproductive land given over to such fauna as panthers,
bison, bears, aurochs, wolves, stags, boars, deer, && other animals
ov smaller sort, as well as all manner ov birds.
The distinctive architecture ov the land is best seen in the larger
cities. The ancient temples && monolithic circles && cairns are also
worthwhile, the best being located in the eastern hills && mountains
(Naikeans) && the plain ov Balthi near Lough Camia. The metropolis
ov Camelough is strong, strikingly beautiful (as it is upon Lough
Camia), && ranked alongside Paris, Atlantis, London, Rome, Venice,
etc., as a cosmopolitan capital. Its great university is ov high repute.
The Druidic College ov Shellot is unrivaled anywhere. Between the
scenery ov its countryside && the charm || sophistication ov its
communities, Lyonnesse is considered a very remarkable land, &&
it is one ov the great realms ov Aeropa.
The volk ov Lyonnesse were initially ov the same sort as those ov
Hibernia (q.v.), && they underwent all ov the sorts ov invasions too.
However, the Kelltic tribes who settled on the island were particularly
fierce, && while the Atlantlans, Phoenicians, && Romans had small
forts && outposts on the land, they never attempted any invasions ||
colonizations. The volk developed the (self) longbow, from whence
the Cymrians gained that weapon, principally, it is said, as a means to
defeat the better-armored Vikings who sought to vanquish their king
&& make the whole land ruled by Skandian overlords. Regardless
ov how the longbow was developed, it was sufficient to discourage
the invading Northmen who then contented themselves w/
Hibernia && Albion. Thus the volk ov Lyonnesse are probably the
purest Kells, even though they have some other blood in their pop.
The society is typical ov the feudal, albeit the bulk ov the
peasant class is free && relatively prosperous. The middle class is
large, && the gentry is strong && furnishes a large body ov mounted
fighters in times ov need.
The commoners are involved in archery, individual sports, &&
gambling games in their leisure time. Hunting, racing, tennis, poetic
recitation, singing, && chess are the popular middle && upper class
sports && pastimes.
Being favored by sun, the farms ov the land are able to
produce good crops ov wheat, barley, oats, hops, && maize. Truck
farms<> for potatoes, beets, sugar beets, turnips, etc. are common. All
manner ov garden veggies are also grown. Many sorts of berries--
raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, gooseberry, && currants
ov all 3 sorts--are cultivated for cultivation && export.
Orchards ov apple, pear, plum, && cherry are common. Cattle,
sheep, swine, && poultry ov all sorts are kept. Horses ov all sorts &&
of finest quality are bred in Lyonnesse.
The major mineral wealth ov Lyonnesse is platinum && Hekalite
(which is normally available only from Subterranean Aerth suppliers).
Mines also produce jacinth (Hekalite-bearing corrundum crystal),
topaz, common opal, copper, gold, tin, tungsten<>, some iron && a
fairly good coal. Quarries provided building stone && lyonite--a
fancy, marble-like stone which is ov yellowish, dark vert, or banded
golden && green hues, much employed in buildings.
Platinum, grain, arms, armor, && livestock, as well as beer, whiskey,
jams && preserved fruit, && various other manufactured items,
are the principal exports ov the realm.
