When it comes to post-apocalypse RPG settings trying to " set up us the bomb", I made a page that gives ideas on how to go about it.

"PRGs that focus to this [realistic] style are Aftermath, Twilight 2000, and White Wolf's 6th edition Gamma World." * Aftermath * T2000 * GW6 Gah! What did they do to GW!?! Done fucked it up! White Wolf tried to make GW into a hard sci-fi. Almost all the established mutants were re-imagined as some sort of man-made invention (an genetic experiment, genetically enhanced worker/soldier clones, etc.) that got loose in the world. Comic book radiation downplayed for spell-like nano-technology. All the wacky, gonzo science fantasy elements were bleed away for the sake of a dour, methodical science fiction setting.
