Chaosium plans to release a new version of RuneQuest, based on RuneQuest 2 and integrating some ideas from Pendragon to make using Rune powers more fun. Designing the New RuneQuest: Part 1Part 2Part 3Part 4Part 5Part 6Part 7Part 8Part 9If I understood the design blog correctly, they are going to add runic powers in a similar way as Pendragon offers you knightly virtues. Basically, you are aligned to a certain set of runes and get rewarded if you follow their way, but suffer penalties if you act against them. Also, the life path extends beyond your apprenticeship and now includes your parents and grandparents heroic deeds (also drawn from Pendragon). That sounds rather promising, even though I was first sceptical abouts Chaosiums decision not to base their version on an existing version of RuneQuest.

Yeah, some interesting ideas in the new RQ. Will be cool to see what the end results are.
Also, for the oldbies, there was the Glorantha anniversary RQ2 reprint kickstarter. Actual redo of the old stuff, in the style of the 1e reprints from Wizards.

There are still new articles being written: Designing the New RuneQuest - Part 10- Part 1110 says basically "the book is so awesome, and once it was edited it will be the most awesome book ever!". Which I doubt. I assume it will be more like the other RuneQuest books out there, which are quite good at what they do, but nowhere near the most awesome book ever. Part 11 speaks very vaguely about how sorcery is going to work.

Sorcery was the worst thing to ever happen to Runequest. I kind of understand from a Gloranthan history point of view why they did it but its execution was just terrible.
