Not too long ago, I found a file of OD&D with all the old (crude) art replaced with old black & white Frank Frazetta pictures. You know the deal: art with a lot of gratuitous scatty-clad barbarian-dudes and warrior-maidens, with liberal doses of S&S T&A.
I then remembered how utterly whinny the WotC community got over perceived sexism. It was like a pissing contest were everyone was trying to out-do each other in how deep they could bury their heads into their own asses and use it like an echo-chamber!
[rant]I kid you not: As they were having that infamous 60+ page thread about boobs on Dragonborn women (yes, that was a real point of contention), the community was bitching about how terrible and sexists that most of the women in the rule books were for sporting mid-drifts (bare hips and waist, as it is the fashion these days), as it "objectifies women" and "makes young women feel insecure about their own bodies." And many of the posters bitching were fucking dudes! Fucking really?!? Those fuckers do not know what they want in fantasy art, nor what women want; they know jack-shit about fantasy art and women; they have piss-poor judgment on what makes for good fantasy art or what is truly sexist; and its form their shitty tastes why fantasy art these days are so bland and immersive! Fantasy art is about escapist wish-fulfillment! Its about going deep into our own imagination to immerse a fictional world far removed for our own mediocre reality, and art allows use to express such worlds! (I am so glad that WotC shutdown their cesspit of a forum! Good riddance! I really hope that they burn their achieve too!)[/rant]
So I had this funny idea: Make a "Manly Men's Edition" of D&D with all the art replaced with nothing but overly-homoerotic beefcake fantasy art with enough gay overtones that hits the densest reader like a fast-moving Mac truck, too where it comes off as "straight-male fantasy" in the most ironic way possible! Basically... nearly all of the fantasy art and movies that came form the 1980s, as wall as all the covers on cheap romance novels.
[rant]Unfortunately, assholes as noted above would not see it like that and bitch about how it is "too exclusive to male-readers and alienates women readers" as the joke flies over their little heads like a low-flying super-size Russian aircraft. Fuck them![/rant]
Yes, nothing but clean, manly art.
