Pres' thread on Saint Cuthbert got me thinking. Who are the cool guys below the Gawds? I quite like St. Michael the Archangel. He had a pretty nifty prayer too. PRAYER TO SAINT MICHAEL THE ARCHANGEL St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen..

St. Nicholas could stand on his own when he was born. He also refused to suckle from his mother on fast days.
St. Guthlac used his belt to squeeze a demon out of a possessed man, who then wore the belt for the rest of his life to prevent the demon from coming back.
Two kids lost a cheese (no really, a cheese) and couldn't remember where they'd hidden it, till St.Thomas Becket appeared to them in a dream and let them know where it was. Because, cheeeeeeeeese....
People used to perform the rite of incubation, whereby they would sleep in a church and await saints to appear in their dreams to either cure them outright or else to tell them what they had to do in order to be cured. In one instance, a mute noblewoman and a paralysed man were both performing the rite of incubation in the church of Cosmas and Damian, a sainted pair. The paralysed man dreamed that the saints appeared to him and told him he could only be cured if he made love to the mute woman besides him. They gradually convinced him, and he finally made his attempt, trying to crawl over to the woman. But she awoke and realized what he meant to do, and so she cried out loudly to her nearby relatives to rush into the church and protect her. The paralysed man had to run away for fear of getting lynched. Thus the mute noblewoman regained her voice, and the paralysed man regained the use of his legs, and both were instantaneously cured from their illnesses.

That is brilliant! And I shall use the excuse of 'the rite of incubation' next time I get caught
