This place is awesome; churches of antiquity a perfect for gaming ideas. I like how it was the tallest structure for so long. Quote:St.Paul's Cathedral was built after the Great Fire of London destroyed Old St.Paul's in 1666 & was completed in 1708. The dome of Saint Paul's is 111m high & it was London's tallest building until 1962. St.Paul's was designed in the English Baroque style by Christopher Wren (Photos: David Iliff & Peter Smith). Magick of AlbionPersonally, I think that a blend between 17th c. England, and, pre-Christian England is a fascinating proposition. Keep in mind that Albion is 1 of the 20 "high magic" areas of Aerth, as well: it ranks 6th, out of 20, though this ranking is shared with all of Avillonia, the islands which are united by the Five Crowns Compact. Everyday people see magick of some kind probably once every six days or so, in theory, on average. The common man, of course, would see less, whereas The Court Magician (John Dee?) would see magick on a daily basis. As well, Oxford and/or Cambridge would probably have a Mage's School as part of their campus (cf. DRAGON #124). Last but not least, with regards to the Artifacts/Relics, although it is noted that they are held by the Crown, i imagine them as being in some dungeon, somewhere. It seems more fun that way, and, there's nothing like a Royal Quest to get the players excited! With regards to Excalibur, that is Lyonesse. With regards to the other artifacts/relics, generally I assign one "theme power" suggested by the name, and, then i do 1 roll on each of the DMG artifact/relic tables. This same general paradigm applies to all realms of Aerth, now. (The listed artifacts/relics are not held by the Crown, generally, yet: they are in dungeons, somewhere). For some reason, NETHACK comes to mind, right now... Prespos Ps. chris107: if you want to make 36 random rolls on the UNEARTHED ARCANA magick item tables, to determine that which is held by the Crown, then go for it. Sorry about stealing your artifacts/relics!
