While reading Metamorphosis Alpha, I notice a part in the book that notes the things you can pull off plants and dead mutants that can make for highly useful to adventures. For example, mutants with reflective skin could be skinned to make hide or fur that can reflect energy attacks, along with poisons and venom that can be coated on weapons or blow-darts. This is something I wish they included in Gamma World! Beyond the obvious axe beak axe-heads, flailsnail flails and plate armor of most of the scaly/plated beasts, what odd item you would make form monster byproducts. For example, cutting the antenna off a rust monster to make a pair of armor-dissolving whips. The proboscis of a stirge could be used as hollow darts to cause its victim to profusely bleed, if not pulled out. As macabre is it is, if you skinned the hide of a nymph and put her bare ass on a standard, like a pride-flag for Ed Gein enthusiasts, you could blind or kill all who sees it — friend and foe alike! And that is just covering a few of the creatures form the first MM book! Can you imagine what could come out of that freak-show called the Fiend Folio? (Could the eyes of a Blindheim continue to shine after death? Even if if they continue to shine until the onset of decay or rigor mortis, you could have a highly useful flashlight. Damn, that would be awesome! FYI, I love the Fiend Folio!) Think about all the possibilities!!

Very cool idea. On a more mundane level, there is an article in Dragon #137 which details monster parts, and, their GP value.
I shall post a link to the .html version once I upload it.

In a Pathfinder game an ex GF of mine ran one of our players had a character that made food out of everything.
Dragon strips, dragon nuggets, demon meat (which happened only once).

I've also thought about doing an Elder Scrolls alchemy-type conversion with monster parts. Thing is with the D&D system, to make something as effective as most of what you describe it's basically a magic item. That means a lot of stuff is good as being the key component of a potion, scroll, or permanent item but still needs serious magic and effort put into it. Also I thought of the same article John did when I read the title. It's worth a read even though few monster parts have an immediate use.
