Also , from a gamer's perspective, these are GREAT books of adventure in a Mythic China sort of vein. Can't recommend these enough. Extremely funny as well as poetic writing.

FENGDU GHOST CITY, CHONGQING, CHINA"The legend of this place dates back to the Han dynasty when two court officials, Yin Changsheng and Wang Fangping, came to Ming mountain to practice Taoism and became immortals. Yinwang, the combination of their surnames, means “King of Hell.” Many of the temples and sculptures in the city depict people being tortured in hell for their sins. “The Ghost King,” a giant face on the hill, holds a Guinness World Records title for being the biggest sculpture carved on a rock. It is 452 feet (138 meters) tall and 712 feet (217 meters) wide." (Source: The deadliest places on earth)

Although the art of creating golems, golemcraeft, is of Phillistian origin, historical records && lejends refer to an emperor ov Ch'in who is said to have been buried with 10,000 stone golems! Literally, an army of stone golems. Surely... such stories cannot be true... or can they? With regards to the number ov the golems, and, even the 'fact' that they are golems: this is open to conjecture. However, the meticulous records of the Empire all correspond with regards to the existence ov a massive megadonjon/tomb, located somewhere in Ch'in. It is thought that this tomb was covered with earth, artificial hills, and, seeded with trees, so as to look as part ov the natural landscape.

Every 66 years, a demonic race of monsters known as the Tao Tei assails the Great Wall of Ch'in. So far, the Ch'in have been able to hold them off, with their most excellent army. Note that the Ch'in do have access to blackpowder technology, though it's use is state-controlled, and, less prevalent than in some of the Aeropean realms to the Far West.
