If you are fluent in Portuguese, you should checkout the Tormenta (Storm) setting. It is an anime-styled D&D setting with a nicely trimmed bikini-line.

Thanks, Mal! Sadly, I am not fluent in Portuguese (though I end up 'watching' Brasilian TV every Sunday with the parents)... Again, I'm just starting up a bunch of 'notepads' for the Aerth setting, or, for any Fantasy Earth setting. With regards to Brasil on Aerth, it is basically pre-colonial, only known as " Hy Braseal". The default timeline presents Aerth at the very beginning of a colonial age, basically. Anyway, Tormenta looks very cool, and, I'd to learn more about it! Pres

Thanks, Mal! Sadly, I am not fluent in Portuguese... Nor am I, but I still find a way to read them.
Actually, Tormenta is a fairly generic fantasy like many of the products found with TSR and WotC. One big difference is that they are not as reliant on the Tolkien races as the default playable races. You can also play a wide range of humanoid creatures normally reserved in the Monster Manuals (Goblins, Orcs, Minotaurs, etc.), along with their own races, like the Lefou and Qareen. The setting is not outright quasi-medieval in design, and features a mix of technology from different eras (short of our modern era). That is, you'll find Renaissance Era science and machinery, Steampunk elements and the like. The setting is fairly anachronistic compared to our own world, but that is not a bad thing. Although I have not address the game system, it is basically a variation of third-edition D&D playfully called 3D&T. Like most 3.x products, much of their supporting books are meaty splat-books. Beyond the standard fantasy RPG elements, it, like most RPG settings, features a fairly detailed backdrop with some hooks in place to distinguish it from other fantasy settings. It is even supported by a comic book series called Holy Avengers. With setting hooks, one of the most iconic (for this setting) is the City of Valkaria, with it massive goddess stature at the center. Here is what it says (after some translating) about it in the module A Libertação de Valkaria ( The Liberation of Valkaria): It is definitely unique take for a fantasy city, and to do so in a way that would make it instantly recognizable to anyone with even a passing knowledge of this setting (like nearly anyone who is reading this). This city is to its setting, is what the City of Greyhawk is to Oerth: The starting-off point for new adventures, and the site of many adventures into itself, including some would-changing scenarios.

Thanks! That looks very awesome and creative! The setting is not outright quasi-medieval in design, and features a mix of technology from different eras (short of our modern era). That is, you'll find Renaissance Era science and machinery, Steampunk elements and the like. The setting is fairly anachronistic compared to our own world, but that is not a bad thing. Aerth has a baseline of 17th century technology -- so, it doesn't include Steampunk. That said, I totally agree with the concept of anachronism in a Fantasy setting -- if it's possible, I would include cultures from The Stone Age, to, The Age of Sail. I think I'd imagine Portugal as a great sea-faring power, with, perhaps, the greatest (sea-faring) technology on Aerth -- inclusive of the 19th century, in fact, following the High Seas article in Dragon: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22333214/1/d/ship.htmSo, yes, that would push the "canon" of Aerth, by 2 centuries in that specific regard. Then again, it might be Atlantis that has the highest technology...! Prespos the Navigator

Portugal is also famous for its two military orders: The Knights of Aviz (from which the second royal dynasty of Portugal descends) and the Order of Christ (successor to the Knight Templar's in Portugal). Here a rare video footage of a march of the Knights of Aviz:

Quote:Died today (May 28th) in 1357: Afonso IV "The Brave", King of Portugal Quote:Afonso IV's nickname the Brave alludes to his martial exploits. However, his most important contributions were the relative peace of his long reign and the importance he gave to the Portuguese Navy. Afonso IV granted public funding to raise a proper commercial fleet and ordered the first maritime explorations. The conflict with Pedro, and eventually the explorations they began, became the foundation of the Portuguese national epic, Os Lusíadas by Luís de Camões. The dramatic situation between father and son and Inês, became plots in more than twenty operas, as well as "Nise lastimosa" and "Nise laureada" (1577) by Jerónimo Bermúdez, 'Reinar despues de morir' by Luís Vélez de Guevara, "Inez de Castro" by Mary Russell Mitford, and La Reine morte (The Dead Queen) by Henry de Montherlant.
