So I had this idea..what if humans were all dead? What if sometime in the great paste of the game worlds the race of man faded to history? I am not sure what ended mankind, nor do I think anyone might really know. It has been ages, upon ages since night has fallen upon the races of man. But would would replace them? How would races be fit for such a world? I had some idea's I am gonna explain a bit The Remnants - Elves: what if Elves of whatever they are called are what used to be those humans that fled the world? Into the other realms they went, lands of fey and fairies and what came back, after the night of man was something inhuman and other? after all time does not have to move at the same speed in the other realms. Nor need elves be all nice and kind and look like pointy eared humans.
- Tiflings: Kinda the same things as the elves except they fled to the shadow or dark realms or maybe they were humans banished by mortals back before mortals died
- Deathless: Humans or trapped their soul or had them trapped in golem like objects or suits of armor. Or maybe within corpses themselves.
New races or none human ones: - Orks: After the age of man orks became the most common race, they have nations, kingdoms and all the fun stuff normally humans do in most games.
- Halflings: I am gonna use this image( See below) as they are small, strong as men used to be, and I did not want them to look like small humans, but a race that could survive on its own despite the small size.
-
- Drakes: AKA dragon born, each would be tied to an element or something of the like, likely they were created by the vanished race of man as soldiers. They may not even all look lizard or dragon like as they are a created race that without its masters now breed true and have went "wild" But I was thinking
Any thoughts on such an idea?

Pondering elves: Elves may have once been men, once long ago before they took a trip though the byways and paths to the fey realms that is. now they find their way back, some fleeing fey overlords, some simply wandering and looking for the long lost homeland. They exsist as tribes and clans, in small hidden enclaves not fully in the mortal realms. Elves shun items of metal and metal working, however though arcane arts though mortals understand twists and control the very seeds of life. Elven woodwork is both still living and often as tough as steel. Cloth is often grown as much as weaved and many eleven tools are living beings breed to be useful. It is not unknown for elven armor and weapons to be living symbiotic creatures. Many of the odd and "unnatural" beings in the world can be blamed on the elves or thier forumer master's handi-work. Elven coloration tends to be a grey/green shade, although both brighter and darker shades have been seen and are often an indication of clan/tribe bloodline. elven ears are rather massive and fine tuned, hearing into ranges other races often can not and thier eyes are both pupil-less and shades of green, amber and purple. Elves do not seem to worship any god, but often venerate the fey lords or aspects of elemental nature. And seem to live about 200 years.

Pondering the Forsaken Long ago the forsaken where mortal men, of the long dead human race. Once they had another name, one history no longer recalls as they lost a war, a terrible war thousands of years before the twilight of men and were banished by the victors to a realm of darkness and nightmare. Long did the forsaken stuggle in the nighmare realms, tens of thousands of years surviving and thrusting for vengeance on those who banished them. Always seeking a way back to their long lost homeland. Now the forsaken have returned, found a way back to the home long stolen from them only to find no one upon to repay the injustice done to them. They seek to rebuild what was lost and hold vengeance, so very long denied for those who once belonged to the race of man. it is a cold, unsatisfying vengeance, but it is all they have. The forsaken are fine craftsmen, using arcane knowledge of ages long past to work wonders of metal and stone unseen by the mortal races now claiming the realm long stolen from them. They tend to live arrayed after the long vanished city states that have grown into kingdoms without lands. A series of allegiances and family ties stretching back tens of thousands of years that non forsaken have a hard time even understanding. Forsaken have red skin often scared skin and curled horns and amber eyes . A legacy form their exile in the nighmare realms. They have been known to live about four hundred years.

Pondering the deathless ( sorry no pretty image)
The Deathless, sometimes called the "Remnant" or "ghouls" are not undead , but nor are they a mortal race. The Deathless traces its beginning back before the fall of man, many years and maybe ages before. They are less a people than an idea, a cult in many ways. Deathless are not born, they are created from the dead. The deathless do not procreate in the normal sense, they are living beings and act as such in many ways. However they are born from the dead. An act that repulse many other races as such they are often persecuted and rare in many lands.
The arcane creation of new deathless from the dead is not understood and the deathless never speak of it. However it is known to require a relatively complete and fresh body, at lest three deathless and several weeks. A "new born" deathless often has many memories of the mortal it was born from, but is rarely that person in deed and thought. The age of the corpse often reflects just how close the new deathless is to the mortal from which it was formed.
Deathless are tall with elongated skulls and large cat like eyes of bright skinny colors and no ears that anyone can tell, but small holes right above the neck. They have pale skin with dark spots along their back of the arms, necks, backs and heads and are completely bald. Deathless do not seem to age and live until killed in some fashion.

The progenitors ,the first race, the ancestors, the ancients, the race of man. All of these names belong to and fit the Progenitors. It was they who first settled the lands of Naldron. Little is truly known of the Progenitors by most, the Night of Mankind washed away many of the wonders they created and left the mortal realms in centuries of blood stained darkness. What is known, is that at the height of power the Progenitors’ civilizations were beyond anything known in modern Naldron. Cites floated upon the air and water, magic flowed as air and the progenitors crafted races to service them. It is known that in the age of man’s twilight that the great civilizations of the Progenitors waged a terrible war with themselves. It was in this age that the drake were crafted to serve the Progenitors and the People who would become the forsaken were thrown into the nightmare lands with no more stain than a child tossing a toy he had tired of. The progenitors were a people of great power and great violence that came to an end many think they themselves had crafted. Not much remains of the Progenitors, some ruins and lost artifacts buried with the passage of time and a language no living being speaks. Some can still read the lost languages of the Progenitors, the forlorn, a few scholars and the well-educated who thinks it makes them seem intellectual. Sometimes a city, tower o underground bunker is found, tease can bring treasure and artifacts undreamed of or death on scales unseen since the days of man. Only the foolhardy and the insane dabble with progenitor artifacts they have no understanding of.
