So... what are your all-time favourite PCs in your gaming career? Any system, any genre, if he or she was awesome, please tell us something about the character. Here's a trio of my all time faves and one special mention for a more recent one:
Shorty Gloin - he was a thief in our very long Mentzer/Known World campaign. My third character in the game, after a somewhat short lived Cleric and a pretty awesome, murder-hobo style fighter/avenger who ended up becoming a death knight equivalent NPC after his death. He was my stab at the "honor among thieves" archetype - a professional adventurer to the bone, not a common criminal. I ran him up to level 11 and he retired to life as a wealthy businessman after the campaign concluded with saving Specularum from an undead horde summoned from a magical cauldron (The Black Cauldron style). He had a Hurricane Lantern I put to good use a few times, a cool magic short sword - I think it was +3 - that was able to cast Silence 10' radius to enhance sneakery and a nice hat.
Marvin - Rolemaster High-Man fighter. I rolled 100 for my agility, put all the background points I had into upping the score above one hundred, wore a full platemail and a big-ass tower shield. That made him virtually unhittable and indestructible even on level 1. Never really took any damage worth mentioning during the game. No idea where he is now, because the game ended rather than concluded. In my personal Canon, an expy of Marv works as the enforcer for the retired Shorty.
Mal Davis - Top Secret S/I. A drunkard Scot who carried a machinegun in a cello case. Tough bastard, really, really tough (all my Advantages were in Toughness and I had a high Con score) could be shot a dozen times without really flinching. Had Enemy: Hell's Angels disadvantage. So we misused our License To Kill (CIA Black Ops) and killed every member of the gang through a few sessions. Problem solved. When we finished the game, he fucked off back to Scotland to drink himself to death.
Flimbo Foulfeet - a short lived halfling in Cimmerian's Metnzer game in DF chat. Complete psycho, wore a green suit, yellow scarf and a bowlers hat. Imagine Chucky from Child's Play acting like Alex from Clockwork Orange. He murdered an elderly Carnie during a prison escape and the Carnie started haunting him (basically I roleplayed conversations with myself). He died in a goblin ambush in the wilderness outside of the city and went to Hell.
