Within the newest edition of Dungeons & Dragons, it explicitly states your elf (or whatever) need no binary gender. It also has no assigned penalties for any stats within racial paradigms.
Cool, cool.
I wonder at the gamist theory behind not enabling one's half-orcs to be stupid. Is it as someone once second-handedly reported to me? "Negatives are dumb. Just add less positives". That leaves a foul taste in my mouth, that notion...there's a certain french I-don't-have-a-word-for-it to utilize subtraction sometimes.
Also, does a book really have to acquiesce to not having binary gender assignment at char-gen? Does it really have to be said? Why bother singling out the abnormal? There's plenty of exceptions to other rules that aren't mentioned. There's even an elf with downs-syndrome at the start of chapter 6! It didn't need to be captioned, though. He's right there.
Good edition, strange philosophy.

Debating over getting the PH and MM for 5th, or 100 dollars worth of PDFs.

I like the folksy illustrations of Halflings. Don't know how they are mechanically... The screaming Half-Orc Paladin

In part 2 he goes over the first house rule I made about 5th edition.
I would include super advantage and disadvantage in some cases. (As in rolling 3 d20s.)

5e looks like a bunch of rubbish. I would rather play 1e or B/X etc. Keep your money, spend it on beer or candy

Within the newest edition of Dungeons & Dragons, it explicitly states your elf (or whatever) need no binary gender. In other words, if you are dating a sexy Elven chick form this edition, you are just setting yourself up for The Crying Game?

My issue with 5e halflings is the artistic representation. It's awful, disproportionate as if halflings were real world human sufferers of dwarfism. 3e and even 4e halflings looked better than this. 5e screwjob 4e/3e respectfully I actually prefer these appearances to the hobbit-style halflings of yore. *equips helm, readies shield*

In other words, something like this: ...or this: Feet can stay nice and warm when they are covered in pubic hair! But you forgot the "Marry Sues" of D&D races: The Hoopak (a sling-pole/short-spear with bayonet combo-weapon) is the only good thing about them, and thankfully, that weapon can be stolen by better Halfling type and no one would question it!

as far as I'm concerned, kender do not and never did exist ever. fukkadat. And that hoopak weapon, imo, would be like a staff-sling but would be a spear-sling

That is not the only image of halfings in the PHB that I recall. Bad art is not a real issue IMO nor is it a screw job and some folks will fucking love it. It also makes the race out to be the joke they are so i am fine with the art.
see pages: 132,170( unsure my be a gnome like it matters)
