MORWEN'S INVINCIBLE BLACK DESTROYER
Climate/Terrain: Any
Frequency: Unique
Organization: Solitary (or, Morwen's shock-troop support)
Activity Cycle: Any
Diet: None
Intelligence: Non-(0) (hmmm, see black golem)
Treasure: Nil
Alignment: Neutral (maybe not)
No. Appearing: 1
Armor Class: 0
Movement: 6
Hit Dice: 18
THAC0: 3
No. of Attacks: 1
Damage/Attacks: 4-40 (4d10)
Special Attacks: See below
Special Defenses: See below
Magic Resistence: Nil
Size: H 24'
Morale: Fearless (20)
XP Value: 20,000
-A Beholder's central eye, mounted behind armored shutters that make up the golem's face, projects an anti-magic ray with a 420' range in a 90 degree arc. The eye itself has 15 (or more) hitpoints, AC 7, but is protected by a globe of glassteel.
-A large volume of Quintessence (crystalized time) located in a compartment in the torso negates psionic powers within a 20' radius of the golem.
The Golem can use one of these abilities, once per round:
-Electrical Defenses: an electrical discharge once per day on contact, 6d6 (save vs. spell for half, +4 to save if a weapon is the source of contact)
-Thermal Defenses: the Destroyer can make its entire body extremely hot. (see the Priest spell Heat Metal) Once it reaches 'searing' heat, it can maintain it indefinitely, adding extra damage to all physical contact and attacks.
-A Wall of Force can be erected from a massive diamond in the palm of the left hand.
-A Prismatic Wall can be erected from a fabulous shard of tourmaline in the palm of the right hand. Note that the golem is intelligent enough to not use it's Antimagic Ray in the direction of one of its walls without need.
-The Golem's left forearm conceals a Pitcher of Endless Water (almost always deployed as a 20' stream at 20 gallons/round, cannot function in places where links to the inner planes do not operate).
-The left shoulder conceals a cannon that can project a forceblast (3d4 damage), with all of the effects of a Ring of the Ram (range of 30', structural damage as with a battering ram).
-The Golem's right forearm mounts a retractable metal whip, like a giant metal centipede made of interlocking ringlike segments. It is 100' long when fully deployed, and counts as a Whip of the Balor. It only deals 1d4 damage, but a successful hit entangles the victim, requiring a 1/2 strength check to escape. This is usually used to draw foes into range of its anti-psionic field or a punishing blow from its left fist. Electrical and thermal defenses operate through the whip.
-The right shoulder conceals a Flagon of Dragons (ranges and AOE as the dragon)
Random effects, (roll 1-10):
36 dmg acid
48 dmg lightning
sleep gas
Bronze dragon repulsion gas
Copper dragon slow gas
48 dmg chlorine gas
56 damage Red Dragon cone of fire
Silver dragon paralyzing gas
36 dmg blast of cold, 70' long, 5' wide, 25' at the base
64 dmg Gold Dragon Fire).
(The golem has no control over which effect is produced)
