This is a toughie. I have 2 categories of movies I really like. 1 is the seriously made types (though they may be drama, satire, etc.) and the other is terribly done/campy types (like Plan 9 from Outer Space, Spider Baby, etc.)
One of my all time top 5 favorites has to be the 1933 RKO KING KONG. I saw it for the first time on a b&w tv as a kid, around the age--9 I think. TV in those days was running alot of old movies the studios were dumping from their warehouses to make room, and many local tv stations were able to obtain broadcasting rights for a dime. Anyway, just imagine a 9 year old, at night, watching this on a little b&w tv back in the 50s. It scared the beejeesuz out of me. I thought that damn ape was real! Still watch it today, anytime its on.

I've heard it was Hitler's favorite movie, too. Anyway, KING KONG is the basis for WG6 Isle of the Ape, the last TSR adventure by Gary Gygax. Good movie, regardless.

Have to agree with Oldkat - really difficult to pick. It's like: 'What's your favorite band?' My answer would change every time I was asked. For the moment though, I'm going to go out on a limb and say: To Kill A Mocking Bird/The Desert Fox/Man who Shot Liberty Vallance/Jaws/Dark City
Can I pick that many?
Damn I hate these 'favorite' things.

Sure, you can pick as many as you want. Sorry, it can be a difficult question, indeed!
Although I mentioned ALIENS, I'd add INCEPTION, and INGLORIOUS BASTERDS to the list as well.

PS. We need the popcorn emoticon for these boards!

I liked Alien much more then Aliens.
My fave movie is The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward William Ford.

I don't know why, but Back to the Future has always been my favorite movie.

For science fiction movies it's Forbidden Planet. It still does for me everything it set out to do almost 60 years ago.
