This Dragon article takes a look at dwarves in OD&D.
It's interesting to note the Tolkien references in the first paragraph -- these were the days of Hobbits, Balrogs, and Ents in D&D.

So, here's a couple of questions about dwarves:
A) In AD&D, how do you handle the weights and costs of dwarvish armor?
B) In AD&D, how do you handle dwarven movement rates? (they move with a base 9", not a base 12")
