#2.3 SEARCH FOR THE FORBIDDEN CHAMBER (Conclusion) by Jake Jaquet July 1976 And, here is our latest installment of this series, a retro (or, anti-retro) LOOK at all the articles in Dragon, that, somehow, relate to AD&D. This is a conclusion of a short story, a telling of the exploits of Dimwit and Ralph. There is a key point here: humor. That was one of the defining things about OD&D, and, it started to become lost in AD&D, and, completely lost in later incarnations of D&D. In one word: *Quest For The Lost Temple Of Wonkiness." (OK, I admit, that was 2d4 words, but I am so high on 'holy water', right now, that I've decided to lose my non-abilities with math skulls. Also, my spellings might be a little 'on' or 'off', too. ) Anyway, all of the above said, yes, this is an excellent example of the "wonkiness" of the D&D movement back in the 70s. In future posts, you will see that this "wonkiness" does continue as a firm tradition in AD&D, though, perhaps, somewhat toned down. Anyway, I hope you guys are enjoying these posts. Oh... I almost forgot. In format, each post comes with a question, so, here goes... How do you handle SEARCH in your AD&D games?? (also, cf. dmg.96) Prespos the Wonky PS. Bonus XP to anyone who can post the reason why I posted the words LOOK and SEARCH in CAPS!
