Indeed, the first article of the first Dragon magazine begins with an article by one of the greats of 20th century fantasy literature!
This post is part of an ongoing series that revisits old Dragon articles that relate to AD&D. With regards to the earlier issues of Dragon, it's a bit of a challenge, since this was the pre-AD&D era, so I have to make an effort to relate each post specifically to AD&D.
With regards to Lankhmar, here are your 4 1e sources:
* Deities & Demigods
* Lankhmar, City of Adventure
* CA1 Swords of the Undercity
* CA2 Swords of Deceit
And, that's about it for the first post. I want to keep the posts short and concise, with direct reference to AD&D materials.
That said, I will posit an opening question to 2e fans out there: can you say something about the 2e Lankhmar materials? (I've read all the 1e stuff word-for-word, but the 2e Lankhmar remains unknown to me, at present).
