So, I read a long time ago that a disembodied Lich (having reached such a state via being offed) can possess a stray body and retain some of its power.
This sounded like a great hook for an adventure. But I flipped it around, slapped it a bit, and now I've got a prospective adventuring pseudo-Lich by name of Scramasax the Unholy.
He must travel the world, eating parts of his old body to regain his power. As it stands, he is a spell-casting 4HD undead, unlevelling, monster. Originally, this was for 1st edition, but I've opted to transfer it to the new edition, for pragmatic reasons.
This is me with my DM hat on. So I was wondering, if anyone had any good hooks for such a character's adventures? I already have a locale worked out, but with the right player at the wheel, this should make for some entertainment.

Sadly, I never got to DM for Scramasax as yet, might just make him a mummy in the B/X campaign.
I did, however, have a mute Skeleton Sorcerer PC utilized in my fifth campaign world. He could talk through a btb cantrip, and by level 2 could theoretically sling spells via "meta magic". He's dead now, but it was interesting to see a sorcerer at play, at least in a limited time frame. I really think that Arcane spellcasting ought be a Intelligence thing, though. Still have to engage in shouting matches about no Dragonborn during Chargen.
