Plonk disregards the fallen goblin he is very worried about the donkey. He carefully approaches the beast, rummaging through his lunch for something suitable to give the poor animal. "Hi... I'm Plonk and these are my friends. Did the bad man hurt you?"

Malcazar kicks the fallen Goblin which is indeed dead as a DoDo. He finds a cracked and dry leather purse at it's belt which contains 11 greasy silver coins. Plonk feeds the donkey an apple from his lunch, it munches contentedly and nuzzles the faun with it's damp nose. It's curly hooves do look very sore still though. The cart is about half full of tartan cloth rolls all tightly bound up in oilskin. More bales are spread around on the floor or leaned up against the dank walls. A single stone spiral staircase leads upwards..

Malcazar - 'we'll need to get that ass road worthy or else one of us will have to drag that cart back. Dibs on not me'
'Let's go up those stairs. I'll guard our rear'

Plonk disregards the magician's plan to go upstairs. The donkey is much more important to him at the moment. "Is this the fabric we were sent to retrieve?", he asks while scratching the its ear. "Is it all here? We could just steal it back while we get the donkey to safety!"
"Do you have a name?", he asks from the poor animal.

Gerin watches proceedings with some amusement.
As he does so, he keeps casting one eye towards the open entrance of the tower.
"No matter if it's all here or not, it will soon be re-stolen again unless this matter is dealt with. I have my doubts one single goblin and a rickety donkey is involved. And eleven silvers is a poor prize to be returning with."
He frowns.
"I'll bet a weeks taking of the tithe that we'll find a hobbit at the top of this pile of stone. And more goblins in the bargain."
When Plonk is done with the donkey, Gerin will take the lead entering the tower.

It would seem the poor maltreated animal has only ever been called Donkey. Plonk sooths the beast and using some of the tools carelessly left around the place trims the worst of the creatures neglected hooves. He looks noticeably happier. Gerin sets off up the stone steps, he notices several other packets of tartan cloth leaned up against the walls. After climbing a short way he encounters a badly fitting wooden door with a black wrought iron handle. Malcazar follows him up. It's a very quiet but determined Noggin who after thanking Plonk for seeing to Donkey draws his little sword and grimly mounts the steps too.

Plonk forgets all about his idea to steal back the tartan. What tartan? He pats the Donkey and promises to be right back.
Readying his cudgel, the faun follows the other fools into the tower.

Muttering a quick prayer to Thor, Gerin reaches out and tries the door.
(And if it's locked/jammed, utters a much louder prayer to Thor - liberally mixed with a few choice curses - and throws his shoulder into it).

Malcazar - keeps up with the party, casting glances behind his shoulder on occasion to make sure they aren't being followed

Plonk is a few steps behind the wizard, not really sure why they are going into the tower, but tagging along nonetheless. He thinks about rear.

The door opens easily. The smell greets you immediately as does the noise of snoring goblins. This floor of the tower is one large room, stone steps lead up again. Four small bunk beds are set around the walls six of which have sleeping gobbo's in them. A large wooden table has eight chairs around it. The table is greasy and dirty, covered with half eaten food. Also a leather purse and spilled silver coins atop it.

"Destruction of the lesser humanoid races is our sworn duty Gerin" his mentor would often say while waddling around the temple courtyard. "It is the smaller, vicious breeds who facilitate the growth of giant society. Without their lackeys, the giants remain inconsequential wandering raiders. With them, they gain the ability to not only sustain their activities in a set area, but also....."
Gerin snarls as he lashes out at the nearest goblin with his war hammer.
"Never occurred to me how much I hated Political Studies lessons before now." he mutters.

Gerin, Plonk and Noggin creep into the room each slaying a sleeping Goblin. Malcazar watches the grissely work. (I allowed a 1 in 6 chance for each of the others to wake Goblin 5 did so and raised the alarm). They rise from there beds, hung over but fierce, barring their horrid yellow fangs and preparing to attack...

Noggin leaps at the closest one sword in hand. Initiative rolls are Noggin 3+2 =5 Goblin 5. Noggin rolls 8+1 (miss) Goblin rolls 15 and bights him on the arm for 2HP.

Plonk whacks the Goblin with his cudgel for 4 HP killing it then Malcazar tosses a handful of sand over the scene (roll 9) and all in the room fall asleep. The wizard is alone except for the snores.

Gerin yawns and rubs at his eyes.
"Someone search the bodies. The rest of us will turn the room over looking for anything of use."

A total of 29SP, 7EP are recovered along with a small ivory carving in the form of a frog worth 12GP. The last stone spiral steps lead up to the top floor of the tower.
