You ever heard any of Dweezil Zappa's stuff Distorted? If you did, what did you think compared to his Dad? Steve Vai learned Zappa Guitar stuff. His Son does a good job of getting a great bad of really good musical people to play rock music. He doesn't have the energy his dad does on guitar though.

Try as I might, just can't get into Steve Vai's solo playing (as in without a 'named' band). His work on David Lee Roth's solo stuff wasn't bad though.

As it pays the bills. Actually the best guitarist to me is Robert Fripp Though Trey Gunn will get me going heck yea too...

John, in case you were wondering who did the painting used in that Tool video, it was arch weirdo and crystalline psychic archon Alex Grey, who, besides being the Grandmaster of Flowers, is one serious wack-a-doo artist. Dig it.

Testament were always very 'spotty' with me (Souls of Black is awesome though).
But loved this one.
Great video too if you want to look it up for the title track.

Testament Dark Roots of Earth from last year was quite darn good return to form from them. The two latest Within Temptation albums have gotten quite a lot playtime lately at here. Now they are a genuine pop-music band I appreciate them a lot more than I used to when they were yet another metal band with female vocals. Who on earth would have thought Xzibit would end up featuring on a metal album? XZIBIT!
