The Sicarii (Modern Hebrew: סיקריים siqari'im) were a splinter group of the Jewish Zealots who, in the decades preceding Jerusalem's destruction in 70 CE, heavily opposed the Roman occupation of Judea and attempted to expel them and their sympathizers from the area.[1] On Aerth, it would be the Yarbans, not the Romans, that the Sicarii oppose. Rumor has it that the Sicarii are behind the assassinations of several high-level Yarbans on the Shamish front.

An expedition, mounted from Grandmark, is said to have discovered a tribe, or, in some tales, a kingdom of sasquatches. The sasquatches are really the remnants of a lost tribe of time-travelling Jews from Phillistia. To this day, they scare the local human tribes into giving them smoked salmon && giant goat cream cheese. Note that only one member of the Grandmark expedition returned, raving, disheveled, and, quite mad. There is no proof of his story, but it is an entertaining one, nonetheless. (Thanks: vondan)

The art of making golems comes from Phillistia. It is part of the Judaic faith, like the Qabala, but it is something that predates the existence of this strange and new religion, which appears out ov nowhere, in the year 1000, at the exact same time as Christianity && Islam. In any event, with regards to golems, the interested reader is directed to Dragon #136. The clay golem is a potent guardian && servitor of LG clerics, incl. high level rabbis. It is rumored that Abraham himself has 3 clay golem servitors. Sages still dispute a certain aspect of the clay golem: it(?)'s ability to inflict wounds, or, rather, more specifically, the nature of those wounds. With regards to this, this writer can provide no definite information. With regards to golems in general, the interested reader is directed to Dragon #136, for details with regards to their creation. Players should keep in mind that this is an option for high-level PCs. With regards to clay, although there are different types of clay, it is said that the Aegyptian god Khnum fashioned the human race out of clay. As well, a sage of Faerun (another reality) has stated that clay is magick-dead, inert. This does not seem to be the case on Aerth. Different planets, different realities, different geologies, different truths.

Iron golems are employed by the military ov Phillistia, in the context of Fortification && Siegecraft. It is said that the Aeropans build castles: the Phillistines craeft golems. The iron golem is the base prototype for one of the greatest artefacts ov Phillistia, the Invicible Black Destroyer. It should be noted that if it were not for their slow movement, a single iron golem could decimate an entire unit, division, or, even, possibly a whole army! The iron golems ov Phillistia provide a measure of security to the eastern area ov Phillistia, that which borders Yarbay. With the rise of Islam, the followers of Muhammad, led by Abu Bakr, are determined to take the Holy City of Maghara, for some reason that is to be found in the Islamic scriptures. Instead of a direct approach from Yarbay, the cunning Yarban generals and warlords have instead decided to take a slow and asymmetrical route through Shamash. One of advantages of this is that they avoid conflict with the stout Arabic hill dwarves of the southwest region of Yarbay. Another advantage is that they do not have to move through the defensive net of iron golems that are placed along the Yarbay-Shamash border. The Muslims have taken the strategy of 1000 years: that of slow advancement, fortification, and, investment, with Shamash being their slow and steady route to their ultimate goal: the conquest of Phillistia, and, the destruction of the Jewish faith, which, according to Islamic belief, is a corrupted and false interpretation of the one GOD, Allah. In Islamic belief, it is a matter of Holy Jihad for all Muslims to wage war, until the Holy City of Maghara has been taken from the evil and insidious Jews. Anyway, that is what the Muslims believe. What the Muslims did not count on was the intervention ov Rome, since the conversion of their demi-god king, Caesar Julius, to Christianity, within years of the death of Jesus. As a result, Rome, and, perhaps, to a lesser extent, the other members of the Roman Confederacy have declared Crusade on Islam, with Shamash now becoming the front line in a conflict that could potentially last for 1000 years. Meanwhile, most people on Aerth can't understand why followers of the same God are so divided, to the point of waging war on each other. Perhaps, in the future, the internal conflicts ov the new && mysterious Abrahamic Pantheon will spill over into into other realms, but, in the meantime, the Abrahamic pantheon is limited to 3 realms, with a 4th (Shamash) having become an Abrahamic battleground, with reports ov strange beings known as "angels" fighting on both sides ov the conflict. That things are limited to Shamash is a good thing. Aerth and the Mare Librum have seen, and see, too much in the way ov war && warfare. In the present day, the declaration ov war by the Achaean confederation ov city-states, against Byzantium, still overshadows the growing conflict in Shamash. Needless to say, the Levant is a place of horrific conflict and warfare. All the while, the iron golems stand on the eastern front. Mute && peaceful... yet ready to inflict grievious harm on those that would attempt to conquer the Holy Land ov the Phillistines.
