From: Epic of Aerth Addenda, by Gregg Timm. Babylonia (pg. 72) The sultan is referred to as lugal in the Old Babylonian tongue; his vassals-the bey-serving as regional governors are called ensi, the high priest of each deity is referred to as en, and his grand vizier is known as a sukkalmah. Although the language of Babylonia is referred to as ‘Sumerian’, it is actually an agglomeration of Sumerian, Akkadian and Babylonian with a smattering of Yarbic and Turkic as well. Writing is typically Yarbic, although arcane works of magick are usually comprised of or incorporate cuneiform. Magickal devices also include the Palu (literally, “term of rulership”), the Divine Weapon of the Babylonian pantheon, said to have been bestowed upon the ecclesiastia by Ea himself. This is kept within a vault of the 300-foot tall Etemenanki; also called the Tower of Babylon. The folk of this region enjoy a simple board game that was developed in ancient Ur.

Sargon of Akkad (Akkadian Šarru-ukīn or Šarru-kēn; sometimes known as "Sargon the Great"[4]) was the first ruler of the Semitic-speaking Akkadian Empire, known for his conquests of the Sumerian city-states in the 24th to 23rd centuries BC.[3] On Aerth, Sargon predates Gilgamesh, the current ruler of Babylonia. His tomb is said to be a wondrous place, filled with all manner of strange guardians && valuable treasure. There are rumors of a Dwarf Tower (with at least 15 levels), a Lake of Dinosaurs, && a Demon Fortress, somewhere nearby. (Thanks: chris107)

Mandaeans (Modern Mandaic: מנדעניא Mandaʻnāye, Arabic: الصابئة المندائيون aṣ-Ṣābi'a al-Mandā'iyūn) are an ethnoreligious group indigenous to the alluvial plain of southern Mesopotamia and are followers of Mandaeism, a Gnostic religion.

Black dragons are found in the Tigris-Euphrates marshlands in the south and east of Babylonia. It is said that the chromatic dragons are the direct children of the goddess Tiamat herself, and, they are found throughout the realms of the Mesopotamian pantheon.

Bronze dragons are found along the coast of Babylonia. They are said to have taught the human race the knowledge of making bronze, which is an alloy of tin and copper. This is sometimes reflected in ancient frescoes found in Mesopotamian ruins. Some sages postulate that there must be such a thing as a "tin" dragon, and that the bronze dragons themselves are but hybrids of the copper and tin species of dragons. The truth of this is unknown.

In addition to the regular giant frogs, killer frogs are also found in the Tigris-Euphrates marshlands in the south and east of Babylonia. It is unknown as to who or what is the creator of these specially bred mutants, but it is a fact that they are not a normal part of the ecology, and, that they have an insatiable appetite for human flesh.
