GermaniaThis was a forested land that bordered on Gaul. Romans considered the Germans to be more savage than the Gauls-in the time ofthe early Republic, the Germans were near-mythological bugbears. In actual fact, they weren’t much different than the Gauls. What frightened the Romans were the German migrations during the 1st century A.D. During that time, entire German tribes were on the move through Gaul into Italy, leading to conflicts with Rome. The Roman legions stopped the German migrations, but attempts to conquer Germania failed. The Rhine and Danube Rivers became the Empire’s northern border. During the 1st century A.D., the most powerful tribes were the Chatti and the Cherusci. Constant border raids kept the legions busy. Beginning in 238 B.c., the Goths (from Scandinavia and northern Germany) migrated into the Ukraine area and menaced Rome’s Balkan provinces. Other Germans were hired as mercenary guardians of the Empire; they eventually conquered Rome. - HR5 The Glory of Rome

Germania is the land of Germs: double the adjusted monthly % chance for contracting a disease, but do not apply this to the monthly chance for parasitic infestation.

A headless male body has been found in a park of Munich: the authorities do not know who the victim was, or, the motive for the killing. They are offering a reward to anyone who can help solve the murder.

Dopplegangers are a real problem in Germania. It is thought that the mayor(burger) of at least one of the major cities is a doppleganger, but it is unknown as to which city it is. There are two theories as to their origin: a) They are from the astral plane b) They are of extra-terrestrial origin In any event, they are definitely not native to Aerth.

There are rumors of a terrible experiment gone wrong at a Bavarian University, by a brilliant student born of Naples, from Helvetian descent. Said to be a worshiper of the titan Prometheus, he also dabbled into the mysterious art of golemcraeft, a secret of the Phillistians. A flesh golem has been created in Germania, and the federal watch ov Germania have become involved in this mystery, after provincial and municipal watchmen have been unable to solve a string of strange grave-robbings, corpse mutilations, and, murders, all pointing to the same place, with no definite proof ov a culprit. The best federal investigators have been tasked to solve the case (cf. WHITE DWARF, for details of the Investigator class). Rumor has it that a plea to Setne Inhetep, of Aegypt, himself, was sent, but Setne and his companion Rachelle were indisposed with a mystery of unknown origin. To further complicate matters, it seems that a cult of the deity Prometheus has somehow become involved in this mystery, yet, it is a cult that ascribes some kind of an extra-terrestrial origin to the Titans. What is going on here is anyone's guess.. this might not be just the simple matter of the creation of a golem, but, perhaps the discovery of the secret of human life, or, perhaps, life itself. In the meanwhile, strange sightings of vultures above the Bavarian city have become commonplace...
