Today I struck the first notes to a promising campaign. Prince Borgnine's caravan gets assailed by goblins, who make off with the entourage, and then Lightning Crested Kip Royale, the captain of the guard attempts to escort the prince to town. That's when the Wight in a wedding dress also happens along and schlepps the Prince away. Irked, Kip Royale commandeers a farmer's horse for to ride back to capital and rally a guard to return to wipe the hometown of Gornon's Stead.
This gives a time limit to dungeon delving level 1.
As for the titular concept, the concept furthered to my extant point of view is that the party is generated piecemeal by the players, with no sharing what goes into each character, nor their gear's synchrony. Iron Man character generation will never be the same.
I am pondering a simple lenience. Each point under 63 a character's organic total's produced to, earns a brownie point.
This lead into an interesting discourse with a veteran to classic, about the optimal stat priorities given unto each class in the set-up. I won't share my opinions on such for honorable reasons...
The one thing I'm happy about the most about the system is the mechanical return of The Dungeon as a thing. Doors to be opened, all such fare to be measured to prominence. Good times.

I've already opted that it's going to follow the normative arc of dungeoneering-cum-wilderness, but at that point I've already developed a cosmologic backdrop to the setting to make it more on-point.
The Nascent B/X Setting, Henceforth The Setting of the Unlended Name, is astronomically best envisioned as a one-step removed pictograph. It occupies a strand one Locus closer to the players than other settings.
The extant religious concepts, that of The Absentee Orbuculum being the object of veneration to clerics, is a reference to the aforementioned Locus misstep, and is expounded upon in secret to be that of the Sheening Lair

Here's more goins on, ruleswise Intricacy factors Intelligence rating of literacy is bumped up a tick.
Ring Mail, AC 6, can be made by an adept at such a prospect ad hoc by fastening varied coins (around 100) temporarily to a Leather Armor or Padded Base...Padded variants offer AC 7. This form of armor has the bulk of Chain regardless. The coins of course then are pragmatic to carry with.
Padded Armor is a form of woven armor that is left when a Rust Monster or similar calamity leaves your character in his figurative skivvies.
Wald-Überleben Forest Survival, rather than being a subsuming mechanic, is emphasized with this factor being of in-game emphasis.
Necromancers The Cleric is used for this, relegated to staves and daggers, and loses Turn Undead and the healing/harming spells. In exchange, it can produce a zombie per 8 HP rolled on the switched-in spell slot. The Turning Undead ability is subsumed by the cleric being able to move consciousness into a dead body for use in reconaissance, etc. The bodies must be reunited for the transferance to reoccur. Once the Cleric can “D” something, it can permanently exchange forms at the valued carcass.

My current game's banned Clerics & Thieves...and halflings.
Also been mulling legacy rules for swords etc today.
Each 20 rolled adds a crit factor and each 1 rolled adds a fumble factor to said weapon. So if your really lucky your sword will crit on a 17-20, improving with each 20. Neat!
